Hi, I just created a Facebook account, look me up as William Jones , I have the big red one patch as my picture, I also have an affiliate link on how to make money on eBay, and clickbank, and it is called ..Deals 4 Resale, you can find some pretty good buys, check into it if you can.

how many here have a Face Book Page?

I do. Check it every day.

I go to FB about once each day.

Maybe its because I am not computer literate,or because I am an old f@rt...lol
But I do not like facebook.

I joined because everyone on another website I visit left that site & joined facebook,effectively killing one of my most favorite sites.

All the requests from people I don't know wanting to be friends,requests to be a fan of this & that & IMO silly games are not my cup of tea.
However I did locate a couple friends from the 50's.

Speaking of" being a fan of",someone hacked my facebook password & suddenly I was a fan of this org,that org & things & activities that I can't mention here...LOL

Had to delete all that ,apologize to several people who had insults,supposedly from me posted on their page & then had to change passwords.

I use Facebook, but I don't like it either. Only reason I am on it is to keep up with may family, most of whom have Facebook accounts. I am setting up a forum for my family to try and get them off Facebook.

Who has Skype?

I'm gezeergeek1 on Skype.

I love FaceBook to keep up with 1ID, Vanguards, Daggers and all my friends in active duty status. I chatted with several guys in Iraq and Afganistan this morning. It's way better that Classmates and other rinky-dink sites.

I just join and I want out of it--don't like it at all.

I opened a page just to show my kids how "hip" I am. I hate all the gifting, farming, polling, quizzing crap, etc., but have connected with a few folks that I'm glad to get in touch with. I filter out all the "junk". I only check it when I get a message notice via email. I don't post every time I wipe my butt like a lot of folks do but I have been known to post a rant or two. Usually check it 4 or 5 times a week.

That's the reason I don't like it. Plus the fact that all of your personal info is open to the public.

I joined because of Jake but I do not like it or use it. Too many be my friend request and I do not know them and that does not sit with me. I have not been up there for 2 weeks and really don't care if I ever go back.

And Det, you don't have to display ANY personal information you don't want to! But don't get me wrong, I'm not pushin' it. I hate friend requests and recommendations from people I don't know, too. That's what the "ignore" button is for. I have enough trouble culling through 80 to 100 emails a day without checkin' Facebook every 20 minutes, too.

I didn't join Facebook. I received two invitations from two different people, who I don't know, inviting me to join. Recently Facebook has been in the news because of an increase in the number of hackers and fraudsters trying to get personal information.

I have a spam filter on my e-mail and I still have some of it get through. there are a number of e-rumors that individuals in my e-mail group keep sending me, that I verify through a couple of urban legend websites before I forward them; some of them just keep resurfacing and others resurface and are added too. You have to watch your back -"It's an electronic jungle out there."

I have a facebook page and agree with just about everything you guys have stated here. To counter most of the junk that gets ent (farmville, gifts etc etc ) I just told all my friends to quit sending it to me and they have also installed filters now that let you select what you receive. I have also found several guys I served with as a result of FB so all in all it is a good tool if you use with moderation...

I'm not a Facebook fan either. I quess it is a matter of having enough time. But I was sent the following recently and I found them interesting:

You ain't alone Jake,, I have a FB page and check it everyday.. a lot of friend use it now and all of my daughters have an account. If you filter the junk out and just keep your friends to those that you know it can be a hoot. we post pics of travels and events that each of us attend and keep in touch with out of town folks on regular basis

Thanks for posting the links SS. I would like to visit Ft. Riley again. From what some members tell me my old barracks on Custer Hill are gone.

I like to fish and I remember some of those fishing holes.
